Mariangelie Veléz
Mariangelie “Mara” Vélez Ramírez is a Puerto Rican actress based in Connecticut. She is best known for playing Soniain the feature film Vico C: La Vida del Filósofo, directed by Eduardo “Transfor” Ortiz, available on Netflix Latin America. She also portrayed Xiomara in El Quinceañero de mi Abuela, directed by “Transfor”, and Leyda in the co-production series Súbete a mi Moto, produced by Endemol Shine Boomdog and Piñolywood, both available on Prime Video. Additionally, she starred in Bela, directed by Bruno Irizarry. A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, Mariangelie was part of the Teatro Rodante Universitario under the mentorship of her professor and friend, Dr. Dean Zayas. On stage, she originated the role of Gorguie in the Puerto Rican play El Olor del Popcorn by José Luis Ramos Escobar (2023) and was a cast member of the television comedy show El Remix on WAPA-TV. She has a long-standing theatrical career in Puerto Rico. Mariangelie also has an upcoming series and a feature film project set to be released soon. Currently pursuing her MFA in Acting at the University of Connecticut, Mariangelie continues to expand her craft with passion, discipline, and a deep commitment to storytelling.
