CRT Production History 2020’s

Spring 2020 brought an abrupt halt to in-person performances due to COVID-19. CRT quickly adapted— as we reimagined Men on Boats as a live-streamed virtual production using Zoom, complete with shipped props, coordinated lighting, and live editing software to preserve theatrical immediacy. It also introduced its first-ever radio play, It’s a Wonderful Life (Nov 2020), reimagined as an audio-only production with foley effects. The live-streaming via Zoom became a new model for accessible theatre.

By Fall 2021, CRT joyfully returned to live theatre, launching with an outdoor staging of She Kills Monsters, followed by indoor Main Stage productions like The 39 Steps and Food for the Gods

CRT’s journey—through puppetry innovation, professional summer theatre, major construction, and courageous casting choices—reveals a theatre institution that continually evolves, enriches, and challenges itself. Each anecdote isn’t just a milestone; it’s a story of vision, creativity, and transformation.
