Where to park when you arrive
Parking is available in most employee and student commuter lots after 5 PM during the week and on weekends without permit or payment. However, permits ARE required in all resident and apartment lots and in other restricted locations 24/7. Restricted areas are identified with posted signage.
Parking is specifically prohibited on alleyways, drive lanes, driveways, fire lanes, pedestrian sidewalks and pedestrian ways, roadways and any other location that is not specifically posted or marked to clearly accommodate parking. Although the surface conditions in several University parking areas are unsuited to pavement markings, signage is provided within them to specify their intended uses.
- A campus construction project has reduced parking capacity in the UConn lots adjacent to the Fine Arts complex. Patrons are encouraged to allow extra time for parking and walking to the theatre.
- Limited parking is available near the Nafe Katter Theatre in the UConn lots behind the School of Fine Arts and in Downtown Storrs. Patrons using mobility devices can also enter from the time-limited drop-off lane just outside the theatre’s front doors.
- The parking garage at 33 Royce Circle in downtown Storrs is free for the first two hours, and $1/hour for each additional hour before midnight.
- Please obey any posted signs at E.O. Smith High School.
- There is a fee for parking the North Garage. Payment for parking in the North and South Garages is via online app (paybyphone or flowbird) or kiosk. Payment must be made upon entry for the expected duration of the visit. Additional time can be added via the app or another session can be purchased at a kiosk. Parking enforcement in the garages is via license plate recognition in real time. Therefore payment upon arrival is crucial to avoiding a parking citation.
- Free parking is available in the surface Lot N adjacent to the North Garage.
